The seinpaalduin is the highest dune in the western part of the island and forms the protection against the elements of the village of West Terschelling. From this highest point of West Terschelling you have the most beautiful views of the Wadden Sea on the one hand and the Noordvaarder and the North Sea on the other.
On the seinpaalduin is of course also the semaphore, which is used to inform shipping about the storm.
